click here for a kmbc-tv kansas greyhound law survey-vote yes! CLICK HERE TO FIND YOUR KANSAS LEGISLATOR Our wonderful greyhounds need your help regarding two bills in the Kansas legislature: *********************************************************************************** (1) On Monday, 3/14/05, Kevin and Sherry Neuman went to Topeka where Kevin testified FOR House Bill 2508 which would end the exclusion of a greyhound as a dog in Kansas. Click here to see Kevin's testimony.
**** What you can do: TODAY, please e-mail or call all members of the House Agriculture Committee and tell them a greyhound should be a dog in Kansas and to recommend House Bill 2508 be passed Please contact the following selected members of the House Agriculture Committee and urge them to recommend House Bill 2508 be passed: Bill Feuerborn; Doug Gatewood; Joshua Svaty; Virgil Peck; Forrest J. Knox; Bill Light; Frank Miller; Larry R. Powell; Ted Powers; Judy Showalter; Jerry D. Williams; Bruce F. Larkin; Dan Johnson; Richard Carlson; Donald L. Dahl; John M. Faber; Joann Lee Freeborn Click on the name above and you will reach that Representative's page on the Kansas Legislative Web Site. You can then click on the Representative's e-mail address to send individual e-mails addressed to Representative 'First and Last Name' (do not send one e-mail to combined addresses - legislators do not like that and they do not read them!) or call their phone number listed. *********************************************************************************** (2) A new Senate bill has been introduced that would allow The Woodlands horse and greyhound track in Kansas City, Kan., to have 2,000 slot machines. The other race tracks around the state would be granted 3,500 machines. Some legislators think gambling is a way to fund education. That is a bad lesson for Kansas children and tracks could continue greyhound racing based on slot machine subsidies they have no right to receive! Click here to get more information from Glenn Thompson of Stand Up For Kansas. **** What you can do: EARLY THIS WEEK, please call or e-mail your Kansas Senator them to vote no on senate bill 294 Do it for the greyhounds.....if not you, who? Thank you very much,
